Dr. Renée Baker Set to Host The Refinery on Friday, May 31st

Dr. Renée Baker will lead the discussion and celebration of the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women of color at “The Refinery – And She Rises: Restorative Conversations for Women of Color.” It’s not a secret the daily obstacles women of color face in their homes, workplaces/careers, schools, and healthcare, but data suggests that not many have been paying attention.

The event’s primary focus will be wealth, maternal health, mental health, and self-care. Naturally, those areas can positively or negatively affect romantic, familial, platonic, and business relationships. As an entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three adult daughters, Dr. Baker is the ideal person to lead this restorative conversation. In her day-to-day work, she uses innovative strategies to decrease wealth disparities while promoting her relentless commitment to economic empowerment. Although the conversation is centered around women, men are invited to attend so they can be equipped to be a part of the solution, too.

The Refinery was developed in 2020 by serial entrepreneur and community leader Gary Hartfield to serve as a safe space for conversation, support, and healing. It is more than an event, it’s an opportunity to “refine” mindsets and create solutions. It’s a space for inspiration and empowerment.
