Dr. Renée Baker is deeply committed to helping students unlock their potential and thrive. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida, a corporate mentor, and sponsor of the First Generation Community Catalyst Scholarship, she understands how transformative it is for students—especially those paving new paths—to feel seen, supported, and equipped for success. Her recent participation in the USF Affinity Scholars Welcome Event reflects her dedication to creating opportunities and building communities that believe in students from the very start of their journey.
At the event, Dr. Baker shared empowering takeaways for new students to carry with them into the semester: seize opportunities, advocate for your future, build strong money habits, and ask for what you need. Her guidance underscores her belief that college is more than a classroom—it’s a training ground for discovering who you are and who you’re becoming. Through her teaching, mentorship, and philanthropy, Dr. Baker continues to inspire future leaders to step into their potential with courage, curiosity, and community.
