Tampa, FL  – We are proud to announce Dr. Renée Baker’s appointment as Chair of the IDEA Public Schools Florida Board. In this role, Dr. Baker will lead the board’s efforts to expand IDEA’s mission across the state, ensuring Florida families have access to high-quality, college-preparatory education.

IDEA Public Schools is a nationally recognized, tuition-free public charter school network dedicated to preparing every student for success in college and life. Since its founding in 2000 with just 150 students, IDEA has grown to nearly 87,000 students across 143 schools. The network has earned recognition on the U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools list, U.S. News & World Report’s Top High Schools rankings, and The Washington Post’s list of America’s most challenging schools.

Dr. Baker, a respected financial services executive, author, and community leader, brings decades of leadership and advocacy experience to her new role. As Florida Board Chair, she will help advance IDEA’s vision of serving as the nation’s leader in preparing students for success in college and beyond.

“Education is the great equalizer,” said Dr. Baker. “It builds confidence, fuels opportunity, and transforms lives. I am honored to serve as Chair of IDEA Florida and to support this extraordinary organization in opening doors of opportunity for students and families across our state.”

In addition to her new role, Dr. Baker is CEO of The RBI Group, a sought-after speaker, and a community leader. She has been nationally recognized for her work in financial empowerment, leadership, and mentorship, particularly for women and underrepresented communities.
